It is a great sign for the future of legal research that Professor (Dr) M. K. Bhandari has inaugurally dedicated himself to the task of forming an international academy of learning and research named the GALTER. He has pioneeringly initiated research on cyber law and security and published several works on digital innovations like blockchain and cryptocurrency. The academic enterprise of GALTER envisions a ‘robust ethico-legal framework’ and a ‘better understanding of emerging technologies and their regulation’. GALTER fellowship of learning promise to change the ‘new normal’ and geographies of everyday cultures. It holds the potential to reshape the histories of governance, regulation, law, and justice discourse concerning the ‘surveillance society’ and ‘development’. I wish GALTER all success, above all, in combatting all forms of denialisms in state and society which insist that the only regulatory futures that may exist lie beyond law and ethics. Although I am denied by force of circumstance the privilege of joining foundation membership, so generously extended to me by Dr. Bhandari, I have pleasure in fully associating with all the valiant research activities of GALTER.
